Med Tech Entrepreneurs — Don’t Miss This Sacramento Region Event

Don’t miss the first annual Sacramento Med Tech Showcase on March 30, 2010 at Sacramento State University. The theme for the 2010 showcase is “Transforming Medicine Through Technology.” Hosted by SARTA’s MedStart Initiative , the event will raise awareness of the medical technology industry and resources in the Sacramento Region and generate excitement about technology developments by companies founded and funded in the region.

The Showcase will feature:

Exhibit Hall Showcasing Med Tech Companies in the Sacramento Region
The Next Wave Med Tech Innovators Challenge, co-hosted by VentureStart
“Telemedicine- New and Exciting Frontiers in Healthcare Delivery” panel discussion
“Emerging Trends In Med Tech Investing” panel discussion

Join with other leaders and innovators in the medical technology field. More than 350 attendees and over 50 exhibitors are expected!

Academy for Food & Health Entrepreneurs

The Food and Health Entrepreneurship Academy is a one-week intensive run by the UC Davis Center for Entrepreneurship. It designed for science and engineering PhD students, postdocs, and research faculty in the fields of nutrition, viticulture and enology, plant science, biochemistry, nutritional genomics and fields relevant to foods for health, as well as early-stage start-ups in the food and health arena.

For one week, millions of young people around the world will join a growing movement of entrepreneurial people, to generate new ideas and seek better ways of doing things. Countries across six continents are coming together to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week, an initiative to inspire young people to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity. To think big. To turn their ideas into reality. To make their mark.

From November 16 – 22, 2009, Global Entrepreneurship Week: Sacramento will connect young people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators. Students, educators, entrepreneurs, business leaders, employees, non-profit leaders, government officials and more will participate in a range of activities—from online to face-to-face, and from large-scale competitions to intimate networking events.

Clean Tech Showcase

Sarta’s third annual Clean Tech Showcase is an all-day event at Sacramento State University on October 16. More than 700 attendees are expected. Sessions will cover all things Clean Tech; there are also some specials sessions for entrepreneurs to pitch to investors, and learn about seeking investment capital.

What do you get when you mix a room of 200 entrepreneurs with all levels of experience and insight ranging from Successful Serial Entrepreneurs, VC’s, Angels, and recent college grads with crazy ideas?

An explosion of uplifting, inspiring and engaging networking and collaboration!

Sacramento’s Entrepreneurial community has the resources and intelligence to become an entrepreneurial powerhouse – yesterdays breakfast mixer proves so.

The speakers were all wonderful – they provided great insight into all of Sacramento’s centric entities. I especially enjoyed an experienced VentureStart mentor’s explanation: “As a VentureStart mentor, we simply show our entrepreneurs bridges they never knew existed!”

I met and exchanged contact info with TONS of people – some will definitely prove to be valuable resources in my near future. I also had a great time hanging out by the SARTA booth & sharing with everyone all of the wonderful programs SARTA has innovated to foster entrepreneurship.

There is no doubt that Sacramento has the energy and intelligence to be a leading hub for Entrepreneurship. Now it should be every participants goal to pull friends & family into our entrepreneurial community and make this goal a reality!
