What We Do

VentureStart prepares high growth/high technology entrepreneurs and early stage companies in the Sacramento region to be investor-ready for Angel and VC financing by providing free, comprehensive, and expert mentorship through:

  • Advice – one-on-one and team, including successful entrepreneurs
  • Introductions – from lawyers to investors
  • Mentorship – from pitch to financial
  • Education – business plans, fundraising and more

Our main goal is to accelerate the growth of companies by assisting with good business planning and strategies. We may also suggest ways to bootstrap and/or get customer or grant funding when companies are not yet ready for Angel or VC funding.

As a first time entrepreneur you normally only get one chance to present to investors so we strongly encourage applying to VentureStart before you apply to Angels or VCs. It will improve your chances of attracting interest, and you will get connected to the regional investor community, and regional business and university leaders.
